In June of 2007, Eli was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a blood cancer. Eli chose to participate in a three-year experimental protocol offered by Dr. Bart Barlogie in Little Rock, Arkansas. Dr. Barlogie heads up the Myeloma Institute in Little Rock and with his pioneering treatments has had the greatest success with Myeloma patients.

Eli has undergone tandem stem cell transplants. He and Gangaji found a convenient and comfortable apartment near the hospital since it is an outpatient treatment plan. Both Eli and Gangaji are profoundly grateful for the love and support they received and continue to receive.

Currently, Eli’s Multiple Myeloma is not in full remission, however, the cancer counts are low and his energy levels are back up. Eli’s strength and treatment schedule allow him to return to teaching, offering his life and the transmission of silence through meetings and retreats. After a year off teaching, Eli has accepted invitations for 2008 and supported the re-opening of the Leela Foundation and a new 3 year program.

A schedule of retreats and meetings with Eli are now available on this website, please click these links to review Eli’s new
